Hi, I’m Rhianna
I’m an award-winning Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist with over 13 years’ experience in both primary and secondary care. I qualified from the University of Manchester in 2013 and have since worked across NHS and private dentistry, gaining experience in a wide range of clinical settings, including paediatric and special care dentistry.
I have a particular passion for the prevention and non-surgical treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, helping my patients improve their oral health and retain their natural teeth for longer.
I spent 10 years working within the Restorative Department at St George’s Hospital, where I was trained by consultant restorative dentists and consultant periodontists in the assessment and non-surgical management of complex periodontal conditions. This experience has given me advanced knowledge in the diagnosis, treatment and long-term maintenance of periodontal disease.
Alongside my clinical practice, I’m actively involved in postgraduate dental education. I deliver face-to-face educational courses for the HEE London Deanery, presented webinars for the British Association of Dental Therapists (BADT) and FMC, and have lectured at national conferences for the BADT, sponsored by Oral-B.
I currently work across practices from Central London to Surrey, accepting referrals for advanced periodontal assessment, non-surgical periodontal treatment and supportive periodontal maintenance. I work closely with dentists to provide evidence-based care and, where appropriate, can arrange referral to an external GDC-registered Specialist Periodontist for patients requiring specialist periodontal treatment.
Above all, I’m passionate about providing gentle, personalised care and empowering my patients with the knowledge and confidence to achieve lifelong periodontal health. My aim is to help stabilise gum disease, maintain healthy gums and preserve natural teeth wherever possible.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy playing the violin and spending time with my family.
Educator/Key Opinion Leader
Education is an important part of my career alongside patient care. As a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and educator, I’ve had the privilege of teaching postgraduate study days for dentists and dental care professionals, speaking at conferences and webinars, and contributing to dental education through professional organisations and journals. I love sharing practical, evidence-based knowledge that helps clinicians develop their skills and ultimately improve patient care.
Improving Patient Care
Whether teaching in person, presenting at conferences or delivering webinars, my goal is always the same — to help clinicians apply evidence in a practical way that leads to better outcomes for their patients.
Sharing Knowledge
I love sharing practical, evidence-based knowledge and helping other dental professionals develop their confidence, skills and understanding of periodontal care.
